The Beach Waffle Pullover is a textured, extra-oversized sweater for babies, toddlers, and kids. The rhythmic ‘Broken Rib’ stitch will keep you interested, but allow your mind to wander a bit, making this a peaceful knit perfect for knit night or Knitflixing.

Knit from the bottom up, this sweater is worked in the round until the sleeve split. Then, you’ll work the front and back flat, including a beautiful neck shaping decreases. Neckband and sleeves are picked up and knit. Instructions for a folded neckband are included.

The idea for this pattern sparked when I was looking for a pattern to knit coordinating oversized sweaters for my kids (4 year old daughter and 1 year old son) for our beach trip this summer. After I couldn’t find quite what I was looking for, I decided to design one myself! I wanted to design something that would work well for any kid, regardless of gender.
