This beaded coin purse is knit flat with beading and requires basic sewing skills for seaming up the sides. The fabric lining is optional but is recommended because it adds a bit of weight and durability to the finished piece. The zipper closure can also be replaced with snaps, buttons, or another closure of your choosing.

To make this beaded coin purse, you will need the following materials:

  • Needles: US 2 1/2 (3.00mm)

  • Yarn: Knit Picks Comfy Fingering Weight in Ivory, 171 yards (or any yarn of similar weight)

  • Beads: 350 beads, size of your choice (this amount should be enough to have some extra, in case some are dropped or lost)

  • Crochet hook: The size will depend on the size of bead that is chosen. The crochet hook must be able to fit through the holes of the beads for threading onto the yarn.

  • Sewing needle or sewing machine

  • Sewing thread to match the color of the yarn

  • Small scrap of fabric for lining (optional)

  • 4” zipper or other fastener of your choice
