This drawstring bag is adorably shaped like a bear—mix and match yarn colors to be your favorite type of bear: Grizzly, Panda, Polar—you name it!

Notes before you start:

  • This pattern is worked in joined rounds and is in US Terminology.
  • I use 1/8-inch (550) paracord and a plastic cord stop button for a nice secure close on the drawstring bag. If you don’t have those on hand, I have added information on creating a suitable drawstring that you can tie the bag closed with.

Techniques Used:

Materials & Notions:

  • For one-color bear: Approximately 115 yards of WW yarn;
  • For Panda bear: approximately 65 yards of WW yarn in white and 50 yards of WW yarn in black.
  • 22 inches of 1/8-inch (550) paracord or tightly crocheted chain stitch
  • 4.0mm (Size G) crochet hook for bag, 2.25mm (Size B) crochet hook if creating the drawstring.
  • Yarn Needle to sew in ends.
  • Polyfill stuffing to stuff the head & arms
  • Two safety shank eyes or buttons for the eyes.
