Note: The thumb gusset pattern has been made wider than the actual sample knitted.

Yarns
Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift (4ply weight; 100% pure Shetland wool; 105m 114yds per 25g ball)
Jamieson’s of Shetland Ultra Cobweb (lace weight; 100% pure Shetland wool; 380m 347yds per 25g ball) Note: Black Ultra Cobweb is used for embroidering the eyes so you would only need a very small amount. If you have a black embroidery thread or lace weight yarn, you can use it instead.

Tension
28 sts and 40 rows/rnds to 10cm over stocking stitch using 2.75mm needles.
Please adjust needle sizes to obtain correct tension.

Pattern Notes
The mitten is double-layered. The mitten is worked upward using provisional cast on (see Special Techniques). Before interior part is worked, ears are knitted and attached and eyes and nose embroidered. Then provisional cast on is unravelled to work the interior part. The interior mitten is then tucked inside of the exterior mitten.
