Who doesn’t want to be able to transform into a Viking at the drop of a hat? (Pun totally intended) This hat is made up of a few small pieces put together to create the perfect face-warmer, mask, helmet and accessory. It’s fun to make and uses a variety of needle sizes, yarn weights and techniques to keep you interested. In the end, you get your own Viking personality!

Finished Measurements: to fit head circumference 21-23 inches (53-58.5 cm)

Materials

Size US 10 (6.00 mm) 20 inch circular needles
Size US 6 (4.00 mm) dpns
Size US 10 (6.00 mm) straight needles
150 yards of brown heavy worsted weight yarn
for body of hat
100 yards of white dk weight yarn for horns
100 yards of grey dk weight yarn for “metal”

Gauge: 13 sts x 18 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch on size US 11 (8.00 mm) needles (the body of the hat)
