I love the fabulous fashionable accessories that are available these days! I envisioned this beautiful bolero for quite awhile before actually making the pattern. The first one I made actually just won a ribbon at the Oklahoma State Fair. Yay me! I made it from some luscious bamboo/silk yarn that my hubby gave me for Christmas. The one pictured here is what evolved when I made it the second time.

The pattern is written in sizes 32, 35, 38, 41, 44, 47, and 50 inches. You should measure around the fullest part of your bust and then make the size that provides you with 0-3 in. of ease. It requires 2 to 3 hanks of the main color, and 1 to 2 hanks of the second color. It also requires one 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 in. button, a yarn needle, and thread to match the second color.

The shaping required for this bolero makes the difficulty level “Experienced”, but it goes pretty fast, so it’ll be a great project for a long weekend at home.

This pattern calls for Berroco Weekend, a worsted weight, 75% Acrylic/25% Peruvian Cotton blend. It comes in a lovely variety of colors. Here is a link to the online shadecard: http://www.berroco.com/shade_cards/weekend_sh.html.

You may substitute yarns, but remember that it is best to use a yarn with the same gauge, weight, and fiber content. Also, whichever yarn you use, remember to check your gauge carefully for best results. From the Berroco website:
