You have a yarn what looks beautiful in the skein, but you have no idea what to knit with it. Familiar problem? For example a too-colourful yarn or a yarn with interesting texture. These would look far too busy if knitted with a pattern.
Then this is the pattern for you!

  • firstly this is mostly stockinette stitch, which lets the yarn show
  • secondly the pattern is adjustable so that you can use more or less yarn then stated

Features:

  • worked top down, starting as a usual triangular shawl
  • then the increasing lines start to move
  • other lines appear
  • increases are added/removed
  • suggested for beginners
  • a satisfying knit for tired nights, when you have no energy to pay attention to a complicate lace pattern
  • the shape of the shawl makes it very easy to wear.

Opinion from chemlady (tester):
“This is a great design to allow a special, treasured yarn really shine while still being fun to knit!”
purpleknit:
“I really enjoyed knitting this pattern. Even though it was fairly simple to knit, it kept my attention. I loved the finished shawl and the unusual lace design.”

YARN USED FOR THE SAMPLE
Hand dyed and hand spun by me (60% merino, 40% silk, fingering weight, ca 309 yards 283 m/100 g), 521 yards 476 m
This yarn was an interesting experiment, I spun the silk and the merino separate, and plied the two threads together. I got a very rustic yarn, what needed a simple pattern.
