“Bee Hive Cowl”
This pattern includes the working instructions for two versions of this cowl.
The first is a more old-fashioned look to the piece and for a more modern look there is the second option.
It has been created for the new book in the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, and following the theme of the story I wanted to pull the past into the present and have a piece that was connected over the time travelled years.
I see the first all one colour cowl in the past with Claire and the bolder two tone one with Brianna.
The hexagons are worked individually, allowing it to be a great “on the go” project that’s easily carried around, and whilst there is obviously some sewing up, its easy to do especially if partially done whilst working the hexagons. I find the sewing up and completing the cowl in a short sitting a satisfying way to suddenly have a garment completed and ready to wear.
Its suitable for a beginner upwards by following the rows as they are simply written.
