This slouchy wonder is knit flat, worked from side to side and shaped using short rows.

The garter stitch gives the fabric sturdiness as well as stretch, and the pattern works well with Sport, DK, or light worsted weight yarn.

As written, the pattern calls for a provisional cast on and a modified Kitchener stitch for grafting your live stitches together. Instructions for both are included within the pattern, as well as suggestions for alternate methods.

You Will Need:

  • Approximately 140 yds (128 m) of Sport-, DK-, or Light Worsted-Weight Yarn. - Pictured in Cascade Yarns Eco Alpaca (10-ply; 100% Undyed Alpaca; 220 yds (201 m)/100 g (3.53 oz); Shown in Colorway ‘Natural’ #1510)
  • US Size 7 (4.5mm) Straight or Circular Needle - or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Tapestry Needle Removable Stitch Marker (optional)

For Provisional CO:

  • Cotton Scrap Yarn
  • Crochet Hook: US Size H recommended
  • Spare Knitting Needle (For Optional Three-Needle BO)
