Basic mitred square motif worked in stripes.

16 squares all together
8 squares of light colours (two lots of 4 opposites)
8 squares of dark colours (two lots of 4 opposites)
Dark squares have two half border rows of black to give the illusion of shadows. (if you dont want this effect, just use the pattern for the light coloured square in dark colours)

Can be worked in any yarn. Would be good to use up odd scraps.

Squares can be arranged in any order that you like.

For the larger blanket I used,
2 x 150gm Noro Natsumeki #09 Yamaguchi (Colour A)
2 x 100gm Noro Sonata in pebble (grey)
2 x 100gm Noro Sonata in Obsidian (black)

For the smaller blanket I used
100gm Queensland Fiji #1009 Cape May (Colour A)
100gm Queensland Fiji #1014 Matha’s vinyard (Colour A)
100gm Queensland Rainbow beach #208 Rainstorm (Colour B)
2 x 100gm Queensland Rainbow beach #204 Raven (Colour C)
