Summary:
A simple yet very warm shrug that can be knitted quickly in a day or so or fill a few evenings. The design is basically two bell shapped sleeves with ribbon panels every 5” edged in k2tog, yo lace. These are knit flat and then sewn up then they are then laced together with wide satin ribbon to form a shrug.

This pattern is suitable for a beginner and is being used to teach a teen knit group. I’ve been kindly informed its fashionable enough :D

Additional needle / guage info:
This gauge was achieved on 12mm straight needles (not 12.75 as the rav drop down list states). Guage will vary with US 17’s and if you choose to knit in the round on two circs.

Additional materials needed in this pattern:
40” of matching elastic (optional) - used in finishing. Weave it around the neckline. This will stop sagging and keep the shrug snug against you.
2m of contasting or matching Satin Ribbon - used to lace up the back.

Skein Info:
I used 3.5 skeins of Colinette, on the above gauge this gave me 2 x 23” long sleeves and a 16” knitted back, leaving 2-4” of back cover to the lacing.
