Bernadine is a simple two-color cardigan for 18” dolls. The back and fronts are worked flat separately from the bottom up and seamed together, and the sleeves are worked in the round from the bottom up and then set in.

Yarn: You will need approximately 75 yards each of two contrasting worsted-weight wools for best results. (Pictured: Patons Classic Wool Merino in Chocolate – worsted, 1 skein / 100g / 223 yards, 100% wool; and Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in Fern – worsted, 1 skein / 50g / 110 yards, 100% wool)

Supplies:

  • Two US size 8 straight needles
  • Four US size 8 double-pointed needles
  • Five 5/8-inch buttons
  • sewing needle and thread
  • tapestry needle

Sizing: Finished cardigan is intended to fit 18” dolls such as the American Girl doll.
