Living somewhere with little to no light pollution means I do see the sky lit up on cloudless nights, and now take a keener interest in astronomy. Orion is clearly visible in the winter months. Betelgeuse, a red supergiant, is the largest star in that constellation but only second brightest behind Rigel.

I strongly recommend using a solid or semi-solid coloured yarn to show the cable and a circular needle with a minimum length of 40”/100 cm.

Featured sample measures 46.5” wide x 16.5” deep after light blocking. It used 150 grammes (510 yards) of Wollmeise Sockenwolle 80/20 Twin. It is possible to work up to an extra 12 rows of the lace edging which would require approximately another 45 yards to make the most of overweight skeins.

Instructions are both written and charted using StitchMastery.

Stitches used: garter tab, knit and purl M1 left and right, yo, ssk, p2tog, kfb, pfb, m1p, cabling back and front
