The pretty little baby shoes are designed to be both simple to knit and comfortable to wear. Only a small amount of DK weight yarn is needed to knit the bootees, which are knitted flat and then seamed on the sole and the back. Of course you can add bows or knit some little flowers to attach to the front if you so wish.

The pattern is written for 3 sizes:
0-3 months – approximate shoe length 9cm (3.75”)
3-6 months – approximate shoe length 9cm (10cm (4”)
6-9 months – approximate shoe length 9cm (10.5cm (4.25”)

Gauge is 24 stitches and 48 rows over garter stitch, giving firm but soft fabric with sufficient stretch for comfort but not so much that the shoe will easily fall off.

The sample is knitted in Sublime Yarns Baby Cashmere Merino Silk DK (75% Merino, 20% Silk, 5% Cashmere; 116m/50g; 127yds/1.76ox), but any DK yarn can be used. Only a small amout of yarn is needed, the newborn size took less than 20m.
