This hat started out as a couple of colours in my scrap collection that looked pretty together. I used them to knit a striped stranded hat for a friend’s baby. Then I decided I wanted a big version for myself. (Baby and I live in different cities. I don’t think he’ll be too embarrassed.)

Sizes: Baby S (Baby L, Adult S, Adult L)

Finished Circumference: 12 (14, 18, 20)”
Hat is designed to fit with 2-3” negative ease

Yarn: Cascade Yarns Cascade 220 (100% wool; 220 yards/100g) #8886 Italian Plum (MC) and #8010 Natural (CC), 1 skein each (Or substitute Cascade 220 Superwash for a machine washable hat)

Needles: US 6 (4.0mm) and US 7 (4.5mm) 16” circular needles; set of 4 or 5 US 7 (4.5mm) DPNs or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions: Stitch marker; tapestry needle

Gauge: 21 sts and 29 rows = 4” in charted pattern using larger needles
