PATTERN for a knit cardigan in ENGLISH + GERMAN

Our Big Cardigan is a lovely chunky piece perfect for the colder days to snuggle in. The structure looks like a brioche/ half cardigan stitch but is knitted much easier with only knit and purl stitches. So you save time and yarn :)

Material:
For this sweater, you can use any yarn that is suitable for needle size no. 13 US ( 9mm). I worked here with the yarn “Snow” from Drops Design (50 g = 50 meters).

Sizes:
XS / S / M / L / XL (approx. 700/750/800/850/850g)

XS: length 46cm (shoulder - hem), width 48cm (chest)
S: length 48cm (shoulder - hem), width 50cm (chest)
M: length 50cm (shoulder - hem), width 50cm (chest)
L: length 52cm (shoulder - hem), width 52cm (chest)
XL: length 52cm (shoulder - hem), width 54cm (chest)

Needles:

  • Circular needle no. 13 US/ 9mm (80-100cm)
  • Double pointed needles No. 13 US/ 9mm
  • Double pointed needles No. 11 US/ 8mm
  • a tapestry needle

Techniques:

  • knit, purl
  • decrease stitches, left and right slanted (will be explained)
