This is a pattern for an amigurumi soft toy. The pattern is written to include notes for variations so that with a little color work or fun fur, you can make a lion, lioness, jaguar/leopard, tiger, or panther. The head, body and tail are crocheted in one continuous piece, with the legs and ears made separately and sewn on after the body is complete.

The finished toy is approx 12” (30.5cm) from nose to tail, depending on gauge, hook size and yarn used. The body is approx 7” nose to bum, and 4” tall.

Materials:
Caron Simply Soft, or other light worsted/aran weight yarn
Size G hook
Tapestry needle
A little stuffing
2 safety eyes, 8mm (optional)
1 safety nose, 7-12mm (optional)

Techniques:
Carrying and changing colors, if making a non-solid color cat
Front post crochet

The tapestry needle is used to sew the legs and ears to the toy, and also to whip stitch around the edges of the ears to give them their shape (whip stitch instructions are briefly described in the pattern).
