A larger hat with many options, written in a chatty but thorough voice. Great for any combination of worsted weight yarns—a perfect scrappy stash-buster. A tidy purl ridge at the crest of the head provides textural interest. Options include i-cord edging or ribbing, earflaps or none, and two different top of hat charts for shorter or taller bigheads. There are endless combinations available here!

Two sizes are available, achieved by following either of two top-of-hat charts: one for the large head that is both wide and tall, and one for the large head that has a shorter rise. Finished sample was 24” circumference unstretched. Hat #1 has a hem-to-center-top height of 9”, while Hat #2 (no i-cord, shorter rise) is 8.25” from hem to center top. Both hats have a 6” rise from hem to purl ridge at crown.
