This pattern is a good pattern for a first-time knitter wanting to do stranded knitting. Included are hints for directions for cable cast-on, invisible cast-on, charted knitting, short-rowing and Kitchener Stitch.

The reason the pattern bears the name “Big Sven” is because the sweater repeats similar designs to those on Cottage Creations first pattern, Sven Scandinavian. Many knitters have sent us photos of their adorable children with their matching little Svens!
