These warm, woolly socks are the perfect thing to wear when the days get shorter and the weather gets colder. The cable pattern is rustic enough to be worn by guys and gals alike, and the stitch pattern on the toe and heel provides a little extra cushion in the right places.

There is an error in the pattern- The cable pattern on the back ankle should be exactly the same as the cable pattern that runs down the front of the foot. The instructions tell you to work the charted cable instructions twice (once for the front ankle and once for the back ankle), with a small cable and some esc stitches between each charted section (depending on size). However the instructions incorrectly say to work from round 3 and round 1 of the cable chart in the same round! That is incorrect! In round 3 of the body of the sock, you should work from round 3 of the chart (for the front cable and for the back cable). And for each successive round just work the next round in the chart. I’ve added some more detailed photos to the Ravelry pattern page so you can see what I mean, and I will contact the editors at interweave to ask them to correct the digital file.
