The yarn used is hand spun: Bulky 2 ply handspun for the main mitten part (about 3-4 ounces of Natural BFL – 90 yards) and Bulky 2 ply Feather yarn ( about 3 ounces of Juniper BFL from Spunky Eclectic plied with natural guinea feathers and sparkling crochet cotton – about 75 yards). The gauge is 3 spi, 5rpi and the mittens are constructed on US 9 double pointed needles.
