Bivio vest
About the pattern
The Bivio vest is knitted top-down in a rib pattern (2 knit, 1 purl) on 3 mm needles. First, the back piece is knitted with increases for the armholes, and the stitches are then set aside. For the left front piece, stitches are picked up, and the neckline is shaped with increases. This piece is knitted back and forth until increases for the armhole are made, and the stitches are set aside. The right front piece is worked in the same way, but with buttonholes along the front edge. The front pieces and the back piece are then joined, and the work continues back and forth in rib until the vest reaches the desired length. The body finishes with a stretchy bind-off. Finally, stitches are picked up for the neckline, which is also worked in rib with buttonholes and finishes with a stretchy bind-off. Lastly the ends are weaved in and buttons sewed on.
