I don’t particularly like spiders and I know a lot of people are terrified of them so here is a scary pair of socks just for you!
Knitted from the cuff down these socks feature a colour-work spider’s web with a knitted and applied spider sitting in the middle, a standard heel flap and gusset and a kitchenered toe.

You will need 100g of your main colour, about 50 yds of a contrast colour for the web and scraps of black for the spider.

This sock employs a fiddly technique called intarsia in the round.
Because the motif is only on one side of the sock, it isn’t possible to carry the contrast colour all the way around the sock. Don’t worry it’s not as bad as it sounds - but it is another reason to make it a scary sock :-)
