These cosy little mitts are knit bottom up in the round, with columns of twisted stitches outlining the thumb gusset. The front of the hand showcases travelling stitches over a reverse stockinette background, with a textured basket-weave pattern on the palm.

Yarn Details
The pattern calls for between 110 - 200 yards of sport weight yarn. Shown in Quince and Co Chickadee, shade Audouin (size small).

Size
The pattern includes 3 sizes, to fit hand circumference:

Small: 6-6.5” (15-16.5 cm)
Medium : 7-7.5” (18-19 cm)
Large: 7.5-8” (19-20 cm)

Length 7” (7.75”, 8.5”) (18, 19.5, 21.5 cm) with option to reduce length by 3/4” (2 cm)

NOTES
Pattern is charted only, but includes main cable chart in words. Chart legend uses a blank white box for the purl stitch, instead of the more conventional black dot.

The pattern PDF has been created using A4 paper in landscape orientation. The margins have been set to narrow to accommodate charts. For best printing results, use A4 size paper or enable printer settings to ‘fit to page’.

PDF comprises 7 pages as follows:

  1. Pattern introduction; materials, sizes, photos of mitts
  2. Techniques (photo tutorial on cabling without cable needle); table of sizes
  3. Instructions for cast-on in all sizes; main charts with words alongside charts
  4. Gusset and Top of Hand charts Size Small
  5. Gusset and Top of Hand charts Size Medium
  6. Gusset and Top of Hand charts Size Large
  7. Instructions for top rib and thumb all sizes; abbreviations
