“Blackberry Picking”

This is a simple cowl created by partially holding dk and laceweight yarn together for the body of the piece, equally if you prefer not to have a fluffy finish it can be created purely in the dk yarn and requires no more than is stated here in the pattern.

It is worked flat and then seamed using mattress stitch to give a flat seam with the dk edge being a different width to add contrast and interest to the look of the cowl.

The pattern is written row by row as all my patterns are, so that it’s easy to follow and doesn’t involve any charts.

I have chosen the name due to the yarn colours pulling memories from long ago in my childhood of happy blackberry picking hours and clothing stained by the juice of the fruit.
