Pattern notes:

This hat is worked in the round from the bottom up, starting with a ribbed brim. A super warm, textured Dimple Stitch pattern is worked in the round. Crown decreases are incorporated into the stitch pattern. The fabric is really stretchy and cosy!

Materials:

Yarn:
Heavy worsted / aran weight:
120 (135, 155, 180) yards.

Needles:
US7 / 4.5mm – 40 cm long circular needle for the brim.
US8 / 5 mm – 40 cm long circular needle – for the main body.
US8 / 5mm dpns (or 80 - 100 cm long circular needle for magic loop method) for the crown.

Notions:
1 stitch marker, tapestry needle.

Sizing:
Toddler (child, teen /small adult, large adult).

To fit head circumference:
15.5-17 (17-19, 19-21.5, 21.5-23.5) inches / 39.5-43 (43-48.5, 48.5-54.5, 54.5-59.5) cm

Choose a size with 2-4 inches / 5-10 cm of negative ease (see schematic).

Gauge:
22 sts & 44 rows per 4 inch / 10 cm square in Dimple Stitch on larger needle. 24 sts & 30 rows per 4 inch / 10 cm square in 1 x 1 ribbing on smaller needle.
Adjust needle size if necessary to get correct gauge.
