The Blackcurrant Jelly is a hat full of texture and fun. Looks fab on all ages and both sexes.

Materials:
100g skein of DK/Light Worsted Yarn. Pictured example made with Twirl by Stylecraft yarns in Violet.
4.50mm Crochet Hook.
Large eyed tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Finished Size/Gauge:
Finished size goes from 21 inches/53 cms unstretched to 24 inches/61 cms stretched, approximately, and will fit the majority of teenager and adult heads.

Gauge is not critical because of the ‘stretch factor’ if you would like a particularly large diameter hat then go up a hook size or two, bearing in mind that more yarn will be required. The length is easily adjusted by repeating round 26.

Method:
The Blackcurrant Jelly Beanie is made from the top down starting with a magic loop and worked in the round, in one piece, to eliminate seaming. The optional ‘tails’ are made separately and attached by sewing.
