This is a pattern for an elaborate cable-lace stole. There are also instructions contained within the pattern for a shawl, (21 inches wide) a wide scarf (12 inches wide), giving you the choice of what you’d like to make. The focal stitch is a combination of faggotting and cables.

This stole is knitted with sport weight yarn. The stole is approximately 16 3/4 inches wide and 68 - 74 inches long. The focal cable is a variation of Aran cables.

The stitches are charted ONLY.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a very good working knowledge of cabling .)

There are also instructions for an optional crocheted edging, should you want it edged.

The yarn used in the sample is Handmaiden/Fleece Artist’s BFL Sport yarn, and the piece was expertly tested by Karen Bowen, who can be reached at: ktbowen18@msn.com.
