Growing up my favorite flowers in our garden were bleeding hearts and they remain a joy to spot in local gardens. Over the years their delicate stems and elegant dancing blooms became synonymous with Spring. The Bleeding Hearts Hat brings the promise of spring and keeps away Winter’s chill.

Both Bleeding Hearts Hat and Cowl place an organic and rhythmic lace stitch pattern over reverse stockinette stitch with subtly different effects. The smaller stitch pattern of the hat produces a slightly ribbed fabric which stretches to mould itself to your head. This makes each project size versatile for a wide array of head sizes and hair types. With the cowl’s larger motif and wider reverse stockinette stitch the bleeding hearts float over rich purled texture for a warm and cozy cowl.

Each pattern comes with instructions for three sizes and pointers for customizing the fit. The hat pattern also includes a bonus sizing table for adult size hats in different yarn weights and gauges.
