Welcome to the Boo-Knits Spring MKAL 2023!

Kick off your shoes, curl up on the sofa and settle into a fabulous Blockbuster! The Boo-Knits’ Blockbuster will be released in twenty episodes, all in March, one each morning starting on Wednesday 1st.

Each new episode will be released at around 10am UK time and will be added to the previous episode(s) so you have an up-to-date pattern. You might like to check each update as you may not want to print out the entire pattern on each clue release. As always, we respectfully ask you to keep the first photograph on your project page as the placeholder, that can be copied from this pattern page, so as not to spoil the enjoyment of the mystery for other knitters. An updated and complete pattern will be sent to all purchasers after the MKAL has finished.

Please be aware that on purchasing this pattern prior, to 1st March, you will only receive The Trailer (a pre-release information sheet). The actual pattern will be released one clue a day, starting 1st March.

Blockbuster is worked in a series of six colours of Miss Babs Holston, a fingering weight yarn (393m/100g). You will require a full skein of Yarn A (the darkest) but less of the other five skeins. Miss Babs has put together some fabulous kits (available here) but, should you want to create your own combination, the yardages I used are listed in the Requirements section on the ‘Trailer’ (PreRelease Information Sheet). Colours A, C and E will be worked next to each other and colours B, D and F will be worked next to each other. Don’t worry about the crochet hook, it is only used for the provisional cast on.

You will find it useful to print your pattern on a colour printer, however, coloured pencils could be used to highlight aspects of the pattern.

The pattern is both fully written and charted throughout.

If you like my designs please join us in the Boo Group where you will find a place to discuss my patterns, show off your knitting and hear about KALs and MKALs.

Patterns already set up by KnitCompanion can be purchased, in the KnitCompanion Store, for knitters who like to use KnitCompanion, but prefer to have their charts already set up. However, MKAL patterns are not available in this format until after the MKAL is complete.

Miss Babs kits available here.
