‘Blodeuwedd’ is a knitted lace crescent-shaped shawl, based around an Estonian flower stitch pattern for the main/upper body, with a leaf motif and garter stitch along the curved lower edge. It is knitted on both sides, giving it textural interest, and makes use of Estonian gathered stitches (2-into-9, 3-into-9). It’s not a difficult knit, but probably not the best first lace project!

Inspired by the Welsh myth.

The pattern is size-adaptable - fewer repeats of the main body stitch pattern would give you a smaller, scarf-size finished object - and adaptable to yarn weight. There are currently test knits in progress for extending the design to three skeins, and using 4-ply/fingering weight yarn.
