This hat was inspired by the incredible work of Woolly Wormhead, a British designer who specializes in hats. I love her patterns for their sophistication and originality. She calls herself a “hat architect”, and this describers her to a T! I opted for a “folded border” which creates a clean, well-defined brim. Worked in stocking stitch it plays up the splendid shades blue in the yarn I used, hand-dyed by color wizard, Elbert Espeleta. I suggest using a merino wool that has not been overly treated; this type of yarn resists well to washing without losing its shape. I chose a semisolid in tones of blue which is well suited to the pattern stitch. A solid color would also work well. I would avoid using highly variegated colored yarns.

Eviterei invece filati troppo variegati.
