The pattern has instructions for the basic elongated crescent shape and for 3 different variations, a cable version, a double moss and lace version, and a lace wedges version. Warning: the shawl has many optional variations, so although each stitch pattern is described, there are no overall row by row instructions for the entire shawl. There is no recommended amount of yarn, but about 400 yds of fingering weight yarn makes a nice small shawl. Depending on the desired size, you may use as much as 600 to 900 yds.
