Welcome to my pattern for the Blue Steel Scarf (matching beanie also available).

This was the first unofficial pattern I ever created and the first project I made as a beginner knitter!

This pattern uses a soft and chunky yarn from the Women’s Institute collection at Hobby Craft but any chunky yarn would work well for this project. The yarn choice for this makes it great for the winter months. The yarn I used is a blend of 70% acrylic and 30% merino wool.

Chunky yarn projects are perfect for beginner knitters as they work up incredibly quickly and are easy to handle.

Approximate time to knit this Scarf: 5-10 hours depending on speed of knitter.

Difficulty: Easy/ Beginner

Gauge: 11 stitches and 16 rows = 4 inches with 8mm knitting needles

This pattern uses a long tail cast on.
