Blueberry Forest Sweater
The 12-month size is knit in fingering weight and the 24-month size is knit in sport weight.
This toddler sweater was inspired by the landscape of the canoe country in the far northern part of Minnesota, where the mother and daughter designers go camping with their family. It’s a place of paddling on lakes and camping on islands, cooking over fires and singing songs around them, hiking sunny hills and filling hats and water bottles with the small, delicious wild blueberries that grow among the wild roses and over the lichen-covered rocks. The trip that inspired this sweater took place just a year after a major forest fire had swept through the lake region. Already the shores were green, as the forest continued its slow growth, and the blueberries were particularly wonderful. The memories of that landscape provided the colors
for this special design.
