This was a pattern of the Super Sock Scarefest aka Scary Sock KAL 2012.

the plot of “The Innocents”, a 1961 British horror film directed and produced by Jack Clayton
as well as the libretto of a 20th century English chamber opera composed by Benjamin Britten
is based on the novella “The Turn of the Screw” (1898) by Henry James.

falling within the subgenre of psychological horror, the plot achieves many of its effects through its special setting:
the story takes place on the grounds of Bly, a remote country mansion in Essex, England.
the house is old and creepy, and from the very beginning has the air of a haunted place.
as the story goes on, the whole estate feels more and more claustrophobic.

the lattice pattern of the socks with its twists and noose-like knots depicts the suffocating atmosphere
of that strange and sinister place called Bly.
