Everyone needs that one perfect striped sweater!
Starting from neck with German-short-row shaping, no seaming & minimum pick up stitches, this is a perfect relaxed summer (or winter!) knitting project.

Instruction includes ‘Jogless stripe technique’ for a clean finish and striping all the way down to body and sleeves are very satisfied result.

The sample is knit with Saredo ‘WATAKAMi’ , made of 51% Japanese paper and 49% cotton. This yarn feels lovely on the skin, like a Linen/Cotton blend, and allows for nice shape while draping nicely (though not stretchy like a 100% Linen yarn).

GAUGE
20 sts , 32 rows / 4” in St.st after blocking.

This gauge is based on Saredo ‘Watakami’. The unique combination of fibers in this yarn makes the row gauge ‘more rows’ than normal.
If you are going to knit with a wool-based yarn, you will probably get 28~30 rows. Please be aware that this will make your sweater longer than the measurement below.- please note that the original sweater is cropped length.

YARN
Any yarn if you can get the correct stitch gauge.

Color A (base) - 660 (720, 800, 880) yards
Color B (stripes) - 260 (280, 310, 340) yards

These yardage is based on the measurements below. if you are planning to change the length, please adjust the yardage accordingly.

Measurement
Finished measurements
Chest circumference - 37.5 (40, 44, 48)“
Length - 19.5 (20, 20.5, 21.5)”

If your row gauge is a smaller number, your sweater will be longer than these measurements.
