The inspiration for this pattern is Pre-Raphaelite art,
and more specifically Bocca Baciata by Dante
Gabriel Rossetti. The painting is a very muted image
of a woman will long curly red hair with a flower
pinning it back on one side. I wanted to create
something that incorporated the ruffles and drape of
the clothing style of that time period, but small
enough to be worn in the hair.
