♫ The Music ♫
“There on the cricket’s singing stone, She spares the bogwood fire,” – lyrics from My Lagan Love, a love song set to a traditional Irish air and, like so many tunes, its origin flows from many colourful threads. All seem to be linked to a stream or perhaps a river, in Belfast or perhaps County Donegal.

From the modified Canadian ribbing to the Bavarian twisted-stitch instep pattern, these top-down shortie socks begin with a stretchy cast on. The heel flap is worked in an Eye of Partridge pattern and the sole is worked in Stockinette stitch.

Both a chart and written directions for the chart are provided for the instep pattern.
