This purse was originally published in Godey’s Magazine, in 1865. It is made of silk lace yarn, and is worked in crochet. The bottom is made of four square motifs that are sewn or crocheted together. Then, the purse is worked in the round. Both, the original pattern and my adaptation are on my blog.
