This hat is named after the pineapple bun, a soft bread bun with a crunchy sweet topping which resembles a pineapple’s skin.

The slipped stitch pattern makes a reversible texture which can be worn both ways.

Difficulty Intermediate. Techniques include tubular cast-on and slipped stitches. The box decrease, which is designed to blend in with the stitch pattern, may be a bit tricky, but a schematic is provided. Being able to read charts will help, but is not necessary.

Yarn
The suggested yarns were used by test knitters with good results. However, you can use any fingering weight wool, wool blend, or acrylic. Suitable for solid colours, semi-solid, heathered, or subtle variegation with long colour changes.

Needles and Equipment
2 sets of 3mm circular needles for tubular cast-on.

3mm double-pointed knitting needles for knitting in the round (set of 5 works best). Alternatively, use a circular needle.

4 stitch markers.

Darning needle for weaving in ends.
