I’ve always been a big fan of cables, but if I’m honest I don’t always want to jump into a complicated cable chart because they can be a commitment…and I tend to drop my cable needles.

Enter the Bonnie Brae cowl! The instructions are given for cabling without a cable needle. If you’ve made Josiah’s Hat you’ll be in good shape to make this cowl! I whipped this FO up in about three evenings and it seemed to fly off my needles. I was also able to use almost every bit of my precious skein! You can keep a second on hand if you decide you want a taller cowl, but I think this height is just right and is customizable if you have a bit less than a skein in your stash you want to use.

The cowl is knit in the round from the bottom up (or is it top down? You decide!). I recommend a yarn with a good deal of stitch definition for the best result.

Instructions are provided in written and charted forms.
