This quick cowl with bulky yarn and fat needles will become your go-to project for gifts this year! With any of the beautiful colors of Cloudborn Fibers Superwash Merino Bulky Splash and solids to choose from, pick the combination that makes you happy and knit on. Be sure to gift one to yourself, too!

Skill Level: Easy in-the-round
Required Skills: Crochet cast on (see notes below), knitting in-the-round on circular needles.
One size
Finished measurements: 32 ½”/82.5cm height, 28 ½”/72cm circumference
Gauge: 13 sts and 16 rows = 4”/10cm in stockinette stitch; 12 sts and 9 rounds = 4”/10cm in pattern stitch. Gauge is not critical in this pattern, but a different gauge will affect yardage and size of finished piece. It will be necessary to unravel gauge swatch and re-use the yarn. Take time to check gauge.

Notes: Project begins with a crochet cast on which is joined to work in the round. If you need help with this cast on, check out the video at http://www.craftsy.com/technique/crochet-cast-on/407. Joining to work in the round is explained at http://www.craftsy.com/article/joining-knitting-in-the-round. Although any cast on will do for this project, the crochet cast on is used because it mimics a standard bind off.
