The moment I began knitting up this cowl, the lacy twists and turns of the eyelets reminded me of bright bougainvillea flowers climbing up fences or the walls of houses. It made me think of my travels of Europe, the little cottages draped with gorgeous fuschia flowers. I couldn’t wait to finish it and wear it around my neck.

The Bougainvillea Cowl is knit with alternating sections of lace and garter, and shows off those single-skein luxury yarns beautifully. It is perfect for cool fall weather, and will keep you warm on rainy winter days.

The small size has a 22 inch circumference and a 5 inch width, and is meant to be worn close to the neck. The large size has a 48 inch circumference and a 7 inch width, and it can be worn wrapped once to hang loosely around the neck, or twice for extra tightness and warmth.

I hope you enjoy knitting your very own Bougainvillea Cowl!
