I’ve visited New Orleans several times and always been drawn in by its unique charm. I’m not necessarily interested in the on-the-street party of Mardi Gras, but love the bright colors and beads that decorate the city. While visiting the French Quarter last fall, I found a great yarn store called The Quarter Stitch. Their assortment of gorgeous yarns and friendly staff inspired me to design this festive hat using their custom dyed yarn from Mountain Colors.

NOTE: I prefer my hats to fit with a little bit of breathing room at the top. If you prefer a snugger fitting crown, I suggest you start your decreases a bit earlier. A few testers started their decreases 2 repeats early and reported a nice snug fit.
