Excerpt from Bargello Knits

I love knitted skirts, especially A-line and flared skirts worked with a linen or rayon blend. The fabric just knows to flare from the widest point without clinging. When I first saw Interlacements Irish Linen, I knew it would be perfect for a skirt with a bargello accent somewhere (rather than an all-over fabric). Knitted box-pleats were the way to go for this design.

Pattern notes
Skirt is constructed from the bottom up. Front and back are identical. The pieces are worked flat and sewn together at the side seams. The vertical stripes in the skirt body are worked in fair isle with MC carried across the back to stabilize the fabric. Colors within the right and left box pleats are mirror images of each other.
