Crayons are a favourite with preschoolers, and this motif is easy to knit into a cute cardigan for a two- to four year old.
Australian Home Journal, August 1, 1952

In the Australian Home Journal it called for a 2 ply yarn, but when republished, as “David”, in Vintage Knits: 25 classic patterns for modern knitters the testers found that a modern 4 ply gave the correct tension.

Colour amounts in Vintage Knits:
Grey - 200g
Blue - 50g
Small amounts in - white, yellow & lilac
