This hat was originally conceived as a project that was perfect for our custom Stix colorway dyed by Big Sky Yarn Co, and it is perfect for the chilly Montana outdoors or spending an afternoon at your favorite microbrewery. Adding a strand of lace weight mohair to the squishy merino gives it a little structure and softens the variegation just enough, but you don’t have to add it if you’d rather not have the fuzz.

You will need size US 7 and 9 16’ circular needles and size 9 DPN.
It takes about 125-150 yards of each yarn to make this hat, depending on desired height.
