Finished Measurements
9” (23 cm) from cast on to bind off and 6.5” (17 cm) in circumference, unstretched; will fit the average teen or adult hand.

Yarn
115 yds (105 m) bulky weight #5 yarn (shown knitted in #671-141 Plum, Lion Brand Yarn Lion’s Pride Woolspun, 80% acrylic, 20% wool, 127 yds/116 m per skein)

Most any bulky yarn should do.

Needles and Other Materials
One 16” (40.5 cm) circular knitting needle US 10.5 (6.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge or DPNs if you prefer.

I would consider this pattern at least an intermediate. You will need to know how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, pick up stitches and how to use a cable needle. The hand and thumb area does include a thumb gusset.
