BRAVA SHAWL (EN)
(US terminology)

This shawl is inspired by the Costa Brava, those spectacular wild coves with turquoise, blue and emerald green waters. Knitting the Brava shawl has the same relaxing effect as sitting to watch the sun set over the Mediterranean. It combines lace, texture and tones that plunge us into the depths of the fabric.
Created in super fine yarn, it´s knitted flat, back and forth, from the bottom up starting with just 3 centre stitches and growing to the sides and up. It´s final shape is triangular. To knit this shawl, it´s necessary to know how to knit, purl, increase, cast on stitches with the garter tab method, simple lace, color melting and i-cord bind off.

The pattern is a PDF document that includes written instructions, charts and two video tutorials for the garter tab method and the i-cord bind off.

Level: Intermediate

Finished measurements: one size (76” x 35”, after blocking)

Materials: 4 balls of Katia Mohair Cotton

Needles: U.S. 6 (4 mm) circular needles with a 32” (80 cm) cable (or adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge)

Other notions: tapestry needle and scissors.

Gauge:
With 4 mm circular needles in stockinette stitch, after blocking:
18 sts x 32 rows = 10 x 10 cm or 4” x 4”

CHAL BRAVA (ES)
Con motivo del Barcelona Knits 2021, diseñé este chal para Katia Yarns inspirado en la Costa Brava. Tejerlo causa el mismo efecto relajante que sentarse a admirar el atardecer a orillas del Mediterráneo. Se intercalan calados, relieves y tonalidades que nos adentran en las profundidades del tejido. Se trabaja en plano, en ida y vuelta, de abajo hacia arriba empezando con sólo 3 puntos centrales y creciendo hacia los laterales y hacia arriba. Su forma final es triangular.
Es necesario saber tejer punto del derecho y revés, hacer aumentos, montar puntos con el método garter tab, la técnica simple de calados, cambios de color y el cierre i-cord.

El patrón es un documento en PDF que incluye instrucciones escritas, diagramas y dos vídeos de apoyo para el montaje de puntos con el método garter tab y el cierre de puntos con i-cord.

Nivel: Intermedio

Medidas: Talla única (194 x 88 cm, con la pieza bloqueada)

Materiales: 4 ovillos de Katia Mohair Cotton

Agujas: agujas circulares de 4 mm con cable de 80 cm (o las necesarias para obtener la muestra de tensión)

Otros: aguja lanera y tijeras

Muestra de tensión:
Con agujas circulares de 4 mm a p jersey y con la muestra bloqueada:
18 p x 32 v = 10 x 10 cm
